Byram Animal Rescue Kindness Squad (BARKS)

BARKS works in association with the Byram Pound located on Mansfield Drive in Byram Township, N.J. In addition to the pets that can be seen at the Byram Pound, we also have many cats in foster homes and several dogs in local kennels. All pets can be seen by appointment by calling (973) 300-3185. In addition, many adoptable pets can be seen at our regularly scheduled adoption days which are listed in the event calendar.

Spotlight: Precious Jewel Jewel was rescued as a kitten near a major highway. She was alone and hungry. She's grown into a beautiful torby (mix of tabby and tortoiseshell) and the distinctive mark on top of her head is what inspired her name. Jewel is an affectionate, playful cat that loves to eat, chase a laser and play with other cats. She is sweet - never claws or bites. She'll purr loudly and roll over for you, even give you an occasional head bump. Jewel loves people and all the attention she can get. What a wonderful kitty!
